"The Anaconda: Monster or Reality of the Amazon?"

The anaconda (Eunectes murinus), also known as the sucuriyú or yacumama, is one of the most mythical and feared creatures of the Amazon rainforest.

Known as the largest snake in the world, countless legends have been woven about its size and power. Although the largest recorded specimens reach 15 meters in length, myths speak of gigantic snakes capable of swallowing large animals and even small boats.

 

In the depths of the Amazon's rivers and streams, the anaconda finds its home. Its robust, scaly, dark-colored body allows it to camouflage itself perfectly in its surroundings.

Indigenous groups, such as the Tukano, consider it an ancestral and sacred being, linked to the origin of humanity.
